Kvadrat - Diade - 680

Diade is a furnishing fabric that explores the color universe of artist Kapwani Kiwanga. It is woven from recycled polyester, made from 100% ocean waste.

Diade is the Italian word for something made of two parts, referring to the duality in the textile's design. Inspired by the iridescent colors of nature, and the way they appear or disappear depending on the angle of view, the surface reveals two distinct patterns.troonexpressions.

This prismatic effect is created with a deconstructed twill weave, which connects a diagonal line of one color in the warp with a straight line of a different color in the weft. This construction also creates depth and the sense of iridescent colors in that single colorway, which contains black in both the warp and the weft.

The remaining 15 Diade colors each combine two individual shades. The vibrant colors capture the essence of dynamic colors found in nature, such as the shimmering movement of bird feathers. The neutral palette, on the other hand, features earthy, grounded tones of wood, stone, and off-white.

Given the origin of Diade's materials (plastic waste from the ocean), Diade showcases the potential of recycled polyester textiles. It offers a rich, matte finish, the same performance as virgin polyester, and is recyclable.

Kapwani Kiwanga: “Being involved in the development of a future-oriented product was inspiring. Working with plastic waste from the ocean allowed us to approach a difficult reality with creativity, color and ingenuity, so that altto inspire alternative choices."

The innovative sameDiade's setting, artistic construction and versatile colour palette make it a classic textile with aoderne touch. It is ideal for a wide scala commercial and residential environments and is particularly suitable for office applications.
